Dose of Good: The Lens You Choose`

A small shift in focus can change the whole picture.

“What you seek, you will find.”

Hi Friend,

In photography, the lens you choose determines the picture you capture. A wide lens reveals the whole landscape; a portrait lens draws you into a person’s eyes. The same is true in life.

Every morning we pick a lens, even if we don’t realize it. Some lenses sharpen what’s missing, what’s broken, what’s wrong. Others bring into focus what’s working, what’s beautiful, what’s possible.

Neither lens changes reality itself — but it changes what you see, and what you carry forward.

✨ And here’s the fascinating part: what you seek, you will find.
Neuroscience calls this the reticular activating system — your brain’s filter for relevance. Tell it what to look for, and it will find it. Decide you want to see red cars, and suddenly they’re everywhere. Decide you want to see kindness or beauty, and you’ll notice more of it in places you never expected.

This is why artists, leaders, and storytellers often see possibilities others miss. They’ve practiced choosing a lens that invites possibility instead of limitation. And that choice creates connection, creativity, and momentum.

A lens to try on today:
Pause for just a moment. Ask yourself: What lens am I looking through right now?
If it highlights only what’s missing, try softening the focus and opening to something new. Adjust until you can also see what is good, what is possible.

Then notice one small detail of light — a kind word, a breath of calm, a moment of beauty — and let that be the view you carry forward.

Because what you choose to see shapes what you feel.
What you feel shapes how you show up.
And how you show up shapes the picture you’re living.

May what you see invite joy, what you feel invite peace, and how you show up invite connection.
